Welcome to Kuku District School

Kuku District School is a school which comprises of students with unique talents and abilities varying from the Itaukei provinces they belong to. The school caters for children from five different villages and multiracialism is what makes the school unique. We have a total roll of 138 students including the ECE students.

The ECE is a new addition to our school and it has become crucial aspect of our school’s education system. The school was established in 1936, in the beautiful village of Kuku in Bau, Nausori. The school has an attached ECE center and is supported with 5 primary teachers, 1 ECE teacher and 2 ancillary staffs. The Years 1 to 3 students subject combinations are Literacy, Numeracy, Moral and Civic Education, Vosa Vakaviti, Physical Education and Conversational Hindi.

The Years 4 to 8 subjects are as follows: Mathematics, English, Elementary/ Basic Science, Social Studies/Science, Healthy Living, Vosa Vakaviti, Physical Education and Conversational Hindi. The school is a pilot school for the new Literacy and Numeracy curriculum rollout for Years 1 to 4 and is fortunate to have been included in the 90 schools out of the 700 plus primary schools in Fiji. The school prioritizes academic development but also ensures that children take part in sporting activities so that holistic development occurs. The school accommodates students with distinctive talents. Being situated in a rural environment, the children are far from the wonders of learning that urban children experience and we wish to create a new learning experience for them.

Seeing a smile on their faces daily brightens our day and reminds us as educators on the reason we took up teaching. If you would like more information about the school, or to enroll a student, please Contact Us.
